At the heart of every successful business lies a commitment to continuous learning and growth. We recently had the privilege of engaging in a mentorship and consulting partnership with Locus, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions. This collaboration was about fostering innovation, enhancing design capabilities, and ultimately, driving product and business growth through meaningful solutions.

Our journey with Locus began with a deep understanding of the product roadmap and the unique challenges ahead. We recognized the need for simple geo-spatial and aggregation solutions that were efficient, scalable, and future-proof. This understanding formed the foundation of our collaboration, where we focused on enhancing the feature set on the mobile app, creating an aggregator platform Shipflex and developing prototypes for faster feedback and clear communication.

One of the key areas of our engagement involved developing a robust prototype to present multiple scenarios of the product spread over 300+ screens. We worked closely with the design team, guiding them through the process of creating and maintaining prototypes. We also emphasised the importance of data representation and visualisation. By guiding the team on how to use simple design elements and fundamental concepts to convey complex data, we were able to help create a more user-friendly interface that was appreciated by our users and helped drive on ground results by improving their SLAs.

We also learned a lot from the team at Locus. Their innovative approach to logistics and supply chain solutions is making a difference in the real world, and their values towards ambition, innovation, integrity, commitment, pride and bias for action, resonated with us and pushed us everyday to be the best version of ourselves.

The impact of our mentorship and consulting engagement with Locus was significant. We saw the team grow in confidence and skill, and their enhanced design capabilities led to more efficient and effective solutions. But perhaps the most rewarding outcome was seeing the value our partnership brought to Locus and the support we received taking our first baby steps. By empowering their team with the skills and knowledge to innovate, we helped them push the envelope and they helped us stand on our feet.

Our journey with Locus is a testament to the power of mentorship and collaboration. By working together, we were able to foster innovation, enhance skills, and drive growth. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Locus in the near future and seeing where this design journey takes us next.
